I finally join the world of blogging!

So, I've finally caved in and set up a blog for myself. I really don't know why it has taken me so long to do so. I guess I'm one of those folks who is sort of loathe to give into the cold clutches of technology. I'm definitely a pen-and-paper kind of girl. I'm perfectly comfortable on a computer (and have used them far too regularly both for work and school). However, I still cling to the pleasure I get seeing the words appear on paper, getting progressively sloppier as my hand gets tired.

All that said, I love writing and I love the idea of writing. That said, I figured why not upgrade this different medium and test out writing on a blog? We'll see how it goes...

So, what's with the "Travelmeisterin" name, you ask? It's pretty simple, really. I absolutely love traveling. It's sort of like a drug for me. Anytime I feel like I'm in a rut or some sort of funk, I jumpstart myself with a trip. The more exotic the location, the better. There's nothing like experiencing new sensations: seeing new things, smelling new scents, trying new activities, meeting new faces to exhilerate oneself. When I was trying to come up with a clever blog name, I thought about the things I love and that define me, as a person. My love of travel is definitely one of the qualities that echo a lot about who I am, as a person, and what I like to do. So, I figured: Why not have a blogname that pays homage to one of my all-time favorite things to do. I tried out a bunch of different blog names, only to find a bunch of them were already taken (bummer!). After several attempts, I thought of incorporating a nod to the German language, which I've studied in the past. That seem to do the trick. Blog name found. Case closed!

Enough blogging for today. I don't want to burn myself out. Baby steps, right?
